DHS reportedly used customs summonses to seek journalists' records
Image: Primary The Department of Homeland Security used administrative summonses under a customs-law provision to seek records connected to journalists, media outlets, unions and nonprofits, the Guardian reported. In one case, DHS obtained six months of Georgia Fort's T-Mobile call and text logs after a judge had rejected search-warrant requests for account information. The report says DHS also served Google with a summons for YouTube-account information; Google said it did not comply with summonses for those accounts.
