12TB archive of older Steam server content circulates online
Image: Primary A 12TB collection of content from Steam's former Steam2 distribution system is circulating through a BitTorrent tracker, Ars Technica reports. The archive appears to cover game depots uploaded between 2003 and 2013, including public builds and, in some cases, pre-release, prototype and playtest versions. Data miners cited by the report said the material came from a publicly accessible API endpoint without password protection. Steam2 was replaced by SteamPipe in 2013.
