Berlin confirms extortion after state-network data outflows
Image: Primary Berlin's state government said it is facing an extortion attempt after an August compromise of its administrative network and will not meet the attackers' demands. Forensic work found additional data outflows involving the Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and Environment between August 7 and 12. Berlin said the scope and content remain under examination and that personal or other non-public data cannot be excluded. Police, prosecutors, and federal security authorities are investigating.
