New Mac mini models remove replaceable internal storage

New Mac mini models remove replaceable internal storage Image: Primary
Apple's M6 and M5 Pro Mac mini models solder storage directly to the logic board, removing the previous generation's option to replace its internal storage module, 9to5Mac reports. The M4 Mac mini allowed owners to install a third-party module with up to 2TB of storage or replace a failed drive. The report lists the new base Mac mini at $900 and the 2TB storage upgrade at $1000, putting an M6 model with 2TB at $1900. The earlier 2TB build-to-order upgrade cost $800. Owners can still add external storage through USB or Thunderbolt, but cannot replace the new models' internal storage with a third-party module.
