Googlebooks go on sale with Android app performance limits on Intel models

Five Googlebook laptops went on sale today, with Google acknowledging that some Android apps may perform poorly on Intel-based models, The Verge reported. Acer, Asus and Lenovo models use Intel chips; Dell and HP models use Qualcomm's Arm-based Snapdragon processors. Google says every Play Store app is available, but a small handful of complex apps or games originally designed for Arm chips need developer tuning on Intel platforms. The company says it is working with developers and chip suppliers on compatibility. It has not identified affected apps or given their number.
