Anthropic discloses $80.7 billion first-half net loss in IPO filing

Anthropic disclosed a first-half 2026 net loss of $80.7 billion in its public IPO filing on October 26, largely driven by an increase in the fair value of bonds convertible into its shares, The Detroit News reported. Revenue for the period stood at about $16.3 billion. The company expects compute and infrastructure expenses to increase in absolute dollars and remain its largest operating expense for the foreseeable future. It also warned that reliance on a limited number of cloud providers and infrastructure suppliers creates dependencies and potential vulnerabilities. Anthropic plans to trade on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT after the IPO closes. The filing did not disclose the number of shares to be sold or a proposed price range.
