GitLab adds hosted open-weight models and caps for AI agent spending

GitLab adds hosted open-weight models and caps for AI agent spending Image: Primary
GitLab says three hosted open-weight models and credit controls are generally available in its Duo Agent Platform, giving administrators new choices for running and limiting AI workloads. Group owners can assign GLM 5.3, Kimi K3 or MiniMax M3 to individual features and restrict which models teams use. Spending caps operate at subscription, group or user level, with alerts and an automatic pause at the limit. Per-user caps apply after included credits are consumed; only the capped user loses access to features that consume credits. GitLab also offers Orbit in free beta on GitLab.com, mapping development records into a graph agents can query for context. Its analytics for spending by team, task and model remain in early access.
