Instagram expands longform widescreen video test to the US

Features on Phone+TV 1_1 reorder Image: Primary
Instagram is expanding a small US test of Features, its longform horizontal video format, a spokesperson told The Verge. The format is also being tested with some creators in Brazil. The company is testing clips that point viewers to a longer video, a way to organize Reels into a series, and improvements to live video discovery. Instagram chief Adam Mosseri said the team wants short and long videos to work together, citing podcasts and comedy specials that can also yield shorter clips. Features remains a limited test.
