AWS adds i7i bare-metal option to Elastic VMware Service

AWS announced that Amazon Elastic VMware Service now supports the i7i.metal-48xl EC2 bare-metal instance type. The option uses fifth-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors and provides a larger memory and storage footprint for VMware virtual machines. AWS says i7i instances offer up to 23% better compute performance and more than 10% better price performance than i4i instances. The release is available where both Amazon EVS and EC2 i7i are offered.
