AWS enables in-place Ubuntu Pro upgrades through Marketplace subscriptions

AWS says License Manager now lets customers upgrade EC2 Ubuntu LTS instances to Ubuntu Pro through AWS Marketplace without rebuilding instances or moving workloads. Customers can use an existing Canonical Ubuntu Pro Marketplace subscription or subscribe within the License Manager console. Ubuntu Pro provides security patches for up to 10 years, extendable to 15 years with the Legacy add-on, and supports critical kernel fixes without rebooting. The conversion feature is available in all commercial regions where License Manager operates.
