Meta's Muse opts users into AI training by default

Meta's Muse opts users into AI training by default Image: Primary
Meta's Muse AI agent uses people's interactions for model training by default, and that data may include context from connected email and bank accounts, WIRED reported after testing the app. Users can turn off the training setting. A separate memory feature stores personal details and preferences. Users can edit or delete those entries, but Meta does not offer a switch to disable memory altogether. The agent can browse websites, search Facebook Marketplace and act on requests sent through its app or WhatsApp. Meta says it removes identifying information before using the data for training. It also plans to offer a more private version of the agent's browsing environment later this year, designed to prevent Meta from accessing the data inside.
