Audi recalls 9,048 US electric SUVs over battery fire risk

Audi recalls 9,048 US electric SUVs over battery fire risk Image: Primary
Audi is recalling 9,048 Q4 e-tron and Q4 Sportback e-tron SUVs in the US because certain charging patterns combined with a charge above 80% could cause battery fires, The Next Web reported, citing an NHTSA filing. The recall covers 2024 and 2025 models built between late 2023 and April 2025. Audi says it knows of no related fires, crashes or injuries and estimates that about 0.1% of the vehicles have the defect. Owners whose battery data is missing or requires further checks should limit charging to 80% and seek a dealer battery test. Audi is still developing a final fix.
