Microsoft extends remote boot recovery to Windows Server 2025

Microsoft extends remote boot recovery to Windows Server 2025 Image: Primary
Microsoft has made quick machine recovery available on Windows Server 2025 through the October 2026 security update. The feature lets administrators address critical boot failures using targeted fixes from Windows Update without physically accessing affected systems. The recovery environment searches Windows Update for applicable repairs. Administrators can enable cloud remediation through local or domain Group Policy, with the necessary administrative permissions. Cloud remediation is disabled by default on Windows Server 2025. To disable QMR through Group Policy, administrators must turn off both cloud remediation and automatic application of local remediation packages.
