AWS adds CloudWatch analytics to Route 53 resolver and firewall

AWS says Route 53 Global Resolver and DNS Firewall now integrate with Amazon CloudWatch to analyze DNS queries and monitor firewall rules. Administrators can search query logs, filter patterns such as blocked requests and response codes, and set automated alarms. A new Analytics tab in both consoles brings these functions together. Customers can, for example, trigger an alarm when more than 10 queries from a virtual private cloud are blocked within an hour. Availability spans regions supporting all three services, and standard CloudWatch pricing applies to metrics customers opt into.
