The US public fast-charging network passed 80,000 ports after adding 4,106 in the third quarter, The Next Web reported, citing Paren figures reported by InsideEVs. Port additions fell 12% from a year earlier, while new station additions fell 20%. Higher-powered equipment gained ground: 73% of new ports deliver at least 250kW, compared with 60% a year earlier, and 400kW is the most common choice for new sites. Tesla led the quarter with 1,287 port additions, plus 124 through Superchargers sold to third parties. Rural areas received 10% of new ports.
