Element to manage Waymo fleet operations in Toronto

Element Fleet Management confirmed it will manage onsite operations for Waymo's robotaxi fleet in Toronto, where service is expected to launch in 2028. The agreement extends a multi-year partnership announced in June that began with support for Waymo's San Diego operations. Element's mobility division will coordinate facilities, staff and vehicle operations, including maintenance, cleaning, charging infrastructure and energy management. Waymo said it and its partners would invest in hundreds of roles over time across maintenance, validation driving, customer service and other operations. Commercial driverless ride-hailing still needs regulatory groundwork in Ontario, which could affect the launch timeline.
