Developer releases Nvidia GPU configurator that avoids firmware flashing

GPU prices for current-gen Nvidia and AMD Image: Primary
Developer Panchovix has released a tool for changing VBIOS settings on Nvidia RTX 30- to 50-series graphics cards without overwriting their firmware chips, Tom's Hardware reported. The configurator provides a user interface and is also available for Linux. The tool supplies a modified firmware image that Nvidia's driver applies at startup, allowing settings beyond firmware limits and a return to defaults if instability occurs. Avoiding a flash reduces one failure risk, but extreme settings can still destroy electrical components.
