Missouri order sets limits on automated license-plate data

Missouri order sets limits on automated license-plate data Image: Primary
Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe signed an executive order requiring state and county departments to establish statewide guidance for automated license-plate reader use, according to KOMU 8. The order requires license-plate data to be permanently deleted within 30 days, bars entities from selling the data and prohibits integrating AI facial-recognition technology with ALPR systems. It also establishes potential penalties for misuse, ranging from discipline to a report that could lead to officer-license revocation.
